officers. some of the names are familiar. jennifer franciotti joins us live to explain. >> good morning. the three names have been released. one of those officers has been sued in the past for excessive force. local activists and relatives of anthony anderson rallied to call for murder charges against three police officers who arrested him on september 21. >> we are calling for murder charges. we're calling for these officers to be fired. we are calling for an end to their paid vacations at the tax payers' expense. >> the officers involved have now been identified as detectives gregg boyd, michael vodarick, and todd strohman. strohman was shot in november of 2010. sources say he had the most physical contact with anderson during the encounter. anderson encountered the officers on this vacant lot near his mother's home. detectives moved in to arrest anderson after they caught him in a drug deal. >> they observed him put what they suspected to be some kind of narcotics in his moh in an attempt to hide them. they placed him under arrest for that and took them into police custody. he then s

dream act. jennifer franciotti is live with the latest push to get your vote on the controversial issues. good morning. >> good morning. later today, baltimore tourism officials will be meeting with casino operators in support of question seven, which is all about expanded gambling here in maryland. rights issue. on monday, the naacp met to affirm its committment to same- sex marriage and question 6 on the november ballot. the issue took center stage this week. a chief diversity officer from gallaudet university was placed on leave because she signed a petition to put the controversial law on the november ballot. gallaudet's president now says the university will work with her to reach a resolution. peter franchot is breaking with his party's support for the state's congressional map, which will appear on the november ballot as question 5. >> in maryland, if you're a democrat running in one of these districts, you could be winnie-the-pooh or attila the hun. you're going to get elected. it's wrong, because it creates these districts that people can't figure out who represents them.

minutes apart. >> that happened early wednesday morning. that is where jennifer franciotti is live this morning. with three know about these robberies? >> please do have descriptions of the suspects and sale least two of them have guns. the earliest in the morning when police were called to this area of roland park for reports. two people had been involved in separate incidents of our robbery and abduction. the purse top of around 2:00 a.m., a 41 year-old woman was approached by three male suspects, they say she forced her at gunpoint back into our car drive to a nearby atm and take money. the released unharmed later. about 10 minutes later, the suspects targeted and 19-year- old riding a bike. >> they struck this victim with their car, he fell off his bicycle. they went off with the guys to make sure he was ok. at that point they forced him into their vehicle, asked him if he had an atm card, he did not, so they took other personal property from him. >> the suspects did release but man unharmed. we know that both victims are working was there with police to give them descriptions and t

this morning, in typically quiet community on edge following armed robberies. >> jennifer franciotti is live with the story. you are seeing more patrols in the area? >> earlier this morning there was police presence here along rollins avenue. and police have been patrolling this area. residents have come by asking if any arrests have been made. we told them and help. right now there are looking for three suspects. they have a brief descriptions. they say are -- at least two of them were armed. police were called for two different robberies in the area. a 40-year-old was the day after a car when approached by three male suspects. this a the fourth straight gunpoint back into our car and later dried to a nearby atm and take out money. the released you are on unharmed. incidentes after that acciden they came upon a 19-year-old riding a bike. >> date striped the incident riding his bike. the major issue was ok and then at that point they forced him into their vehicle ask him if he had atm card which he did not. and it took other personal property from him. >>. released him unharmed as well.

city's efforts to prepare for hurricane sandy. jennifer franciotti is there live. >> good morning, as of yesterday evening, a storm was expected to make a direct hit at the mouth of the delaware bay. according to national weather service. as of this morning, the storm is tracking north to new jersey. so this tells us one thing. that the storm is unpredictable. we need to hope for the best yet plan for the worst. over the last 36 hours, city agencies have begun making plans and contingencies and citizens should fully expect power outages, roadway dabee and other destruction. this is a large storm with an expected wide impact, no matter where the center of the storm is, that fact remains. citizens should use the remaining hours to get prepared. here are absolute essentials. battery powered radio with extra batteries. if the power goes out, a battery powered radio may be the only way to receive information. flashlights or battery powered lanterns with extra batteries, essential even during relatively brief power outages. you can't depend on candles. please have an emergency preparedness
